Unique senior pictures are one of my Specialties. I love it when a senior has a special interest, hobby or something unique about themselves that they want to incorporate into their senior session. I also love the challenge of photographing something unique and different.
During Becca’s session consultation, she and her mom, asked if it would be possible to have part of her session at a fire station. Becca’s family are all first responders. Her family consists of firemen, law enforcement, and her mom is a flight nurse. Having unique senior pictures in the fire station would be a true reflection of who Becca is. So, of course, I said Yes!!
I was apprehensive about the fire station at first. I didn’t want to be in the way. As soon as we arrived, I was put at ease. Everyone, there was very welcoming. They even moved the fire truck out of the garage so that we could get better pictures. I was also surprised at how good the light was in the fire station. We did add a little off the camera flash for some drama.
During our consultation, Becca asked me what
she should wear for the session. I suggested Becca wear something dramatic. Becca picked the perfect outfit; black ripped jeans, a black tube top, and denim jacket to top it off. Becca also brought along a jacket that belonged to her Dad; as well as, a fire helmet that we used in several shots.
During our session, we were able to take photographs in and around the fire truck; as well as, in the turnout room, where all the gear is stored. We were able to record also record several clips of video for Becca’s Senior Film.
As far as unique senior pictures go, this was one of my all-time favorite sessions. One of the reasons this was a favorite, is Becca. Becca is so at ease in front of the camera; her personality shines through in the pictures.
