Oviedo Photographer’s Bucket List Photos for Senior Year

June 21, 2016

What are your bucket list photos for senior year?  As an Oviedo photographer, I frequently hear “let’s take a selfie, we need to capture this moment”, from my High School Seniors.  This brings up an interesting question.  What pictures should be on your list, of must have pictures, for your high school senior year?  Here are my top ten bucket list pictures for your senior year.

   1.  You and your BFF.

In this day and age, I am sure you have tons of pictures on your cell phone of you and your BFF.  Do yourself a favor, and print one of them out and put it in a safe place.  Nothing gives me more pleasure, than running across my favorite photos of me any my BFF from high school.

2. You in your team/band/dance/cheer uniform.

You will need this one day as proof, when you tell your children all about the great athletic or artistic accomplishments you had in high school.

3.  A Photo with your first or favorite car or truck.

This is one of my favorites.  I still have a picture of me sitting on my 1966 Mustang, a classic, even when I was in high school.  When I look at that picture, memories of my great high school adventures come flooding back.

4. A Picture of you in your work uniform,T-shirt or at your job.

This is another great way to capture who your were in your last year of high school.  Who were your work friends, what was the experience like. You should be proud of earning your first paycheck.

5.  You with your school mascot or with a symbol that represents your school.

6.  You and your furry sibling, aka your pet.

When you are away at school, this is the photo you will look at the most.

7.  In your favorite place or hang out.

Oviedo High School Senior Photographer/Madeline Class of 2016

High School Senior Photo Sessions | June 8, 2016

As an Oviedo  High School Photographer, I have had the honor of working with some of the brightest and beautiful young women in Central Florida.  Madeline is at the top of that list. I was so impressed with Madeline from the moment we meant.  Madeline is a very active high school senior at Hagerty High School in Oviedo.  She is a Varsity Cheer Leader, on the news paper staff and involved in Student Government.  One of the things Madeline told me she loved about her high school senior year, is her diverse group of friends.  Because she is involved in some many different activities,  Madeline has had an opportunity to  make good friends in each different group.

Madeline is a joy to work with, she has a beautiful smile, and a fun and energetic personality.  Madeline’s mom came up with the balloon idea and I am so glad she did.  The balloons helped emphasize Maeline’s personality. Madeline’s vibrant blue dress brought out her eyes and looked fabulous on her, and her Lilly Pulitzer shorts high lighted her fun personality. We had a fun girls’ day out shooting her High School Senior Session and young women like Madeline are the reason I love this job.

Madeline will be studying nursing at the University of Florida in the Fall.   I wish her much success in her future and can’t wait to witness all that she accomplishes.

Warm regards,

Tracey

Alana’s Senior Session Class of 2016/Oviedo Photographer

High School Senior Photo Sessions | February 24, 2016
Alana on Park Ave Winter Park

Alana on Park Ave Winter Park

Alana’s Senior Session was on a beautiful day that matched Alana’s personality. Alana is a bright and vivacious senior at Oviedo High School.  Alana is also a  warrior on the Lacrosse field, and despite the fact that she is ferocious on the field, she is definitely a beautiful young lady off the field.

For Alana’s senior session we started at the Maitland Art Center. The Art Center has beautiful gates, walls and gardens, but best of all the light there is fabulous. Alana’s first outfit was a light and flirty white sleeveless blouse and bright pink Lilly Pulitzer shorts a great choice for the gardens of the Art Center.

Park Ave is our next stop, from upscale streets, to hidden fountains, it is a wonderful place for a senior session. One of Alan’s favorite spots is the mosaic stair way.  Alana second outfit was a little white romper with chunky strap wedges and a beautiful turquoise necklace that emphasized her eyes.

Rollins College was also on our senior session list, and time for outfit number three.  Alana wore a black lace tank top and trendy ripped jeans.  This outfit was a great contrast to the flower gardens and ivy walls of Rollins.   But I must say, we saved the best for last…

The beautiful berry color of Alana’s shirt made this part of her session pop!  We added a fun furry white vest to add some whimsey to the session, and to put a big smile on Alana’s mom face. Alana’s mom loved the vest.

Alana is one of those rare girls whose smile lights up the room but who also has one of the best serious looks I have ever seen.  I’m  so excited for her and can’t wait to see what wonderful opportunities the future holds for her.

# Confidence Project for Tweens/Oviedo Photographer

February 1, 2016
Tween # Confidence

Tween # Confidence

Do you wonder if you even really existed as a tween? I wonder this when I flip the plastic pages of my parents’ family photo album. One of the few photos that exists of me as a preteen is a traditional school photo. You know the one, that head and shoulders pose with the the not quite smile trying to cover up my braces. My nose is slightly too big for my face and my hair isn’t combed. Ah, sweet innocence.

Babies are so cute, new and chubby. Toddlers have those big, bright eyes and lets face it, they just do the darnedest thing. But those tween ages are often forgotten. At ages 10 to 12, kids aren’t children anymore but aren’t quite teens.

I’m making it my personal mission to capture those lost preteen years. The goal is to help tweens look and feel beautiful and have unshakable confidence in themselves when they hit 8th grade and then high school.
In comes the # Confidence Project
I am starting the #Confidence photography project to fill in the forgotten photo years while enriching the lives of preteens. The main goal is to make preteens look and feel beautiful and be confident in who they are.

Who I’m looking for
I am looking for female and male models for our photography project, ages 10 to 12.
I will ask the model and their parents a few questions, then combine the text and photographs to create one impactful piece of art.

Why # Confidence?
I want to capture the the personality of these tweens and record the last stage of their childhood before they become young ladies and men. I want them to realize their true beauty so that they are confident in themselves before they hit High School. Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can do for your tweens self image.

How to participate or nominate a friend:
Simply fill out the form below and in the comment section write #Confidence and any other information you would like me to know.  Please contact me by March 15th if you are interested in having your child participate in this project, or if you would like to nominate a friend or family member of yours that you think would be perfect for this. Please nominate people you think would enjoy the boutique experience we provide. The session itself is complimentary and includes $50 in product credit (a total $200 value). Our goal is to create a gorgeous group of photos you’ll love and that truly show your child’s spirit and soul! Many people like to use these photos as birthday, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and “just because” gifts for their tween. Our portrait collections start at $300 and most of my clients end up buying a collection. That being said, I do not require a minimum order. After you email me, I will send you specific details and you can decide if this project is perfect for your tween.
Warm Regards,

Senior Session Andrea Oviedo High School Class of 2016- Tracey Dawkins Orlando Photographer

November 23, 2015

If there is such a thing is a Renaissance girl Andrea is it. She is Athletic, plays on Oviedo’s Varsity Soccer team, She is smart and she is beautiful inside and out. This week I have been talking a lot about accessories and how to use them to make your Senior Photo Session pop; Andrea has this down to a science. For her Soccer part of the shoot she showed off her State Championship ring and her cap and gown.

After the soccer part of the session we then got to see the glamorous side of Andrea.
For her first outfit Andrea chose a white romper with lace detail around the legs, a brown belt with metal detail and tassels. I told you tassels were going to be in the season. She added a gold interlocking circle necklace with ear rings and bangles to match. These accessories brought out the beautiful gold tones in Andrea’s skin and eyes.

Andrea’s second outfit was a very cute green split shoulder top, paired with skinny rolled up jeans with plenty of bling on the back pockets and wedges to show off her legs. Her jewelry was another perfect choice, a beaded layer necklace, bracelets and earrings all in shades of green to match her shirt. The jewel tones in this outfit made her pictures pop.

For Andrea’s third outfit she swapped her greet shirt with a yellow spaghetti strap top. Her accessories were a simple gold necklace with a heart charm, gold bangle bracelets and diamond stud earrings. To top it off Andrea wore a straw hat with a band that matched her shirt perfectly, so cute!

Andrea’s last outfit was the perfect casual look. She paired a hot pink tank top with floral print shorts and little white sandals it was a great choice for our dock and lake area pictures.

Accessories can turn an ordinary photo session into something spectacular Andrea’s session is a great example. Accessorizing doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, or be over the top, go check out Versona, H&M, Forever 21, Tilly’s, or the sale table at your favorite boutique.
