As an Oviedo Senior Photographer,  I have the honor of working with some amazing young women and men, that I call my Be You Crew.  Taylor was a member of my 2017 Be You Crew, Some perks of being a part of the Crew are group photo sessions and also coming with me to try out new locations.  Taylor helped me with both of these.  As a result, we ended up with three different looks for her Senior Session.

It all started with our “Pretty Little Liars” group session.  Taylor nailed it with her outfit, a black and white sleeveless dress and black strappy sandals.  Her makeup was the icing on the cake.  Her red lip stick added the perfect pop of color.

For the second part of our “Pretty Little Liars” group session,  Taylor choose a simple white tank knotted at the waist with some higher waisted jeans and to top it off a pop of color with some red kicks.

As an Oviedo Senior Photographer, I love to capture the natural beauty of my senior.  For Taylor’s actual Senior Session  we toned down her makeup a little, and choose light and pretty backdrops.  For her outfit, Taylor choose  a pretty red top with eyelet detail around the bottom and a pair of white skinny jeans with some sandals.  We started the session off in a flower garden with white roses, then headed to some long shadowy hallways for some drama.

Being an Oviedo Senior Photographer and living so close to Sanford,  I have always wanted to  photograph an urban session there.  There are so many alley ways, fences, back streets, all in close proximity.  I thought Sanford might make the perfect location for an urban shoot.  Taylor agreed and we headed off for an afternoon of exploring downtown Sanford.

Taylor’s ripped jeans and dramatic makeup were perfect for that urban feel.  Taylor looked great in the back street settings, but she also looked fantastic in the prettier settings, such as the fountain and theater stairway.

Taylor has been such a fun, sweet girl to work with and I am so excited to see what the future has in store for her.  She is interested in veterinarian sciences and knowing how much she adores animals I think it is a perfect fit.

“What do I wear?!?” As an OviedoHigh School Senior Photographer, this is the question I get asked the most. Senior Photos are right around the corner and excitement and panic may be setting in. You have probably been bombarded by lovely images of your friends, in all different kinds of settings and outfits;  you may be feeling a little dazed and confused about what to wear.  It seems like trends change every 5 minutes and with all the images on Insta and Twitter it is hard to know where to start. I hope this blog will give you some ideas as you are making your plan.

Be You
The first and most important thing to consider when picking your outfits, is to wear outfits that reflect who you are. If you are the ultimate sporty girl, you may not want to wear a ball gown. That being said, I do recommend that you bring at least one casual outfit and one dressy outfit.  It doesn’t have to be a ball gown. Your dressy outfit might be a dressy jumpsuit or pants outfit. If you are a girly girl, I always love a beautiful dress. Your casual outfit might be a shorts outfit, ripped jeans, or a sassy romper, whatever you feel beautiful in.

Be Cohesive

The next thing to consider is color.  Do the color of the outfits you are wearing go well together? Your parents may be considering portraits for their walls or a photo album of your Senior pictures. You want to make sure that the colors in your outfits do not clash. Also, if your parents have their heart set on that grouping of prints on the wall, make sure your outfits don’t clash with the colors in the room where they may hang the art, (bet you never thought of that). There is nothing worse than a print of a beautiful Senior in a fuchsia dress hanging on an orange wall! I love it when my Seniors text me pictures of the outfits they are thinking of wearing. Consider Accessories
The right accessories can turn an ordinary outfit into a knock your socks off outfit. Hats, belts, scarves, statement necklaces, stacking bracelets are all great choices. Just make sure that the accessories you choose match your personal style. You don’t want to be looking at your pictures a couple of years from now and wonder, who is that girl? High School Senior Photo Sessions | March 31, 2017

As an Oviedo Photographer, I have dreamed of doing a carnival senior session for a long time.  All of the colors, and the fun atmosphere is irresistible to a high school senior photographer.   My dream came true when four of my adorable 2017 Senior Team girls accompanied me to the Seminole County Fair.

The first stop on our carnival senior session adventure, was the balloon pop.  You can’t ask for a more colorful background.  And the lady running the both was so nice, she let the girls sit up on the counter, and even go behind the counter.

After that it was on to the Ferris Wheel, it isn’t a carnival senior session with out a Ferris Wheel.  I am so glad I didn’t actually have to ride it because I’m terrified of heights.

We had a blast, just hanging out, people watching and finding fun back grounds for pictures.  I’m so glad I got to spend some time with my girls. I can’t believe that in a couple of short months they will be off to college and new adventures.

We ended the night together back at the Ferris Wheel.  I can hardly wait for the carnival to come back to town next year! Class of 2018 Carnival Senior Session will be here before you know it.

High School Senior Photo Sessions | August 24, 2016

I love taking senior pictures! Being a high school senior photographer has given me a chance to get to know some amazing kids, and make a difference in their lives. But most of all, they have touched and inspired me in so many ways. Julia is one of my amazing seniors, she is sweet, caring and down to earth. Julia and I bonded right away, sharing an addiction to Pretty Little Liars and The Bachelor.  I’ve known Julia since her Sophomore year, and it has been wonderful watching her grow into the beautiful young woman she has become.

For Julia’s senior picture session we decided to shoot in the Maitland and Winter Park area. We started off at the Maitland Art Center, which has beautiful light and amazing architecture. Julia’s first outfit was a royal blue halter top and white pants.  The  blue made her eyes really pop. Click on the pictures below view them at full size.

Julia has a classic style that matched our second location perfectly, the campus of Rollins College.  Julia’s second outfit was a sophisticated black strapless jumpsuit, with a necklace that added just the right amount of fun and color .

Julia’s third outfit was one of my favorites, a classic red dress.  The color just made her complexion look fabulous. This dress was the perfect choice for both the classic locations and the more natural locations, like down by the lake and the bamboo grove.

Julia’s senior year was a huge success. Julia is a two-time high school cheer leader state champion, as well as, a bright future scholarship recipient. In addition to being such a hard worker, she also is full of fun and joy. Julia played and skipped through our session and brought a big smile to my face. Julia will be attending UCF in the Fall and with her work ethic and passion for life, I can’t wait to see what wonderful things are in store for her future.

High School Senior Photo Sessions | July 25, 2016

As a Central Florida photographer I have had the pleasure of photographing seniors from all over the area.  It is always something special though, when you get to photograph a senior that you have known for most of their life.

I first met Connor when he was in the same 2nd grade class as my son, Drew.  Connor and Drew shared a love for baseball and were on the same travel baseball team for years. Through the many sleep overs, car pools, traveling together for baseball tournaments, watching his first home run, holiday dinners, I have gotten to know what a special young man Connor is.

Connor is one of those rare three sport kids.  At some point in his high school career, Connor has been on the basketball, baseball and football teams at Oviedo High School.

In his senior year Connor decided to focus on playing football.  So of course, we brought the football to his photo session .  We did Connor’s senior pictures at one of my favorite Central Florida locations, Lake Mills.  I love the look of the woods, the lake and the light coming through the trees and it’s a great location for male senior pictures.

From 2nd grade to grad, Connor has always had a sweet heart, despite the rough football exterior.  I am very proud of Connor and wish him all the success in the world, as he continues his adventure at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Illinois as a part of their football team.
